TOPIC: Add miscellaneous news to the network calender

Add miscellaneous news to the network calender 1 Month ago Karma: 1
God evening!
I would like to be able to add some info about ATP tournament dates in my network calender. For example, it would be nice if the playing dates of Roland Garros was shown in the calender, alongside with my own "low-level" tourneys. I mean, you don't want to make the mistake of scheduling your own tournament when a Grand slam's about to be concluded.
You could also make use of the calender to schedule miscellaneous happenings of a non-competitive nature, such as
club dinners or club meetings etc. Any thoughts on that?

I think you are on to something. It makes perfect since. Expect some changes to the events within the next couple days.

Thanks for the good ideas!

Ok. Check it out now. You have the ability to add different formats of events.

I also noticed it wasn't allowing an event to be created. That is now fixed.

Let me know what you think.

Yes, I've added Roland Garros as an event, with the starting date as 23/5 and the ending date as 6/6. However, only the starting date 23/5 was lighted up in a yellow backcolor in the calender, and on the in-between dates no info of the event was shown in the calender. Solution?

I really liked the idea of members being able to tell if they're coming, but the function didn't seem to work for me when I tried it out. Also, besides "Yes" and "maybe", perhaps there should be an option like "Definitely not" or something similiar when a member's really sure he/she can't make it to the event.

I just came to think about it, maybe the function to be able to ask who's coming should be optional when you're registring an event, because I don't really have the authority to invite someone to the french open, do I? I just want the dates to be shown in the calender for the visitors to see, but it could be very useful for other events.

If you can make it work, your added function can be really useful when picking up member replies to club events, such as club dinner parties, club summer courses or even club tournaments (or maybe that last function is already available in the tournament section?

Thank you again for such a great site!

Great ideas. The "Who's coming" is now optional.

Also, I am going to join your group for the time being to see if I can see why the "Who's coming" links aren't working.

Thanks for helping me get this figured out.

As far as the Calendar, I will be thinking about the best way to show the end dates and more details.

Thanks!

The "Who's coming" option seems to be working now. I guess you're still thinking about the calender part, and I don't need to mention that you're welcome to join our network at anytime.
