If the higher ranked player wins the match, the higher ranked player will receive 17 points minus the number of games the loser won, and the losing player will receive 1 point for every game they win. Conceivably, the loser may earn 8 points by losing in a tiebreaker (9-8), and the winner could win 17 points by winning 8-0.
