Could you add a ladder setting, to allow us to give a penalty for a "forfeit"?
See, right now, you have the option of counting forfeits as a match result (yes or no). The problem with that is that if someone is ranked lower and win by forfeit, he will move up/gain points (in a leap frog system). But the reverse is NOT true for the higher ranked player winning by forfeit (he gets no point/increase) and the lower ranked player goes away "jail free" (no consequences).
If there was a separate setting, similar to the decline penalty, that would give consequences for "not showing up" for example... and NOT count that as a result (leave the current option to No). For me, a forfeit is a match not played, and it shouldn't count as a result that changes the ranking (up), especially when points are involved. It's not really fair for the other players around in the ranking if they get leap frogged too, by a match that didn't occur. Yes, there should be an impact for the defaulting player, but not the same as a match "victory".
At the very least, we could tie the forfeits to the same decline penalty (but I don't think it's much more trouble separating these penalties).
