2020 Craig Henry Tennis Ladder is a tennis league in Ottawa, Ontario.
Welcome to the ladder. Note that the challenger is responsible for booking the court for your match. Each... player brings a can of new balls, and serves with his/her balls.
To make ladder matches fit the 1-hour booking requirement, this year we'll play a pro set. The first player to reach 8 games by a difference of 2 games wins the match. A tie breaker must be played at 6 all (or at 7 all if time permits and both players agree). The score to be entered if a tie breaker was played is 8-7. We'll review the rules as the season progresses.
If a player is late for a match, there is a grace period of 15 minutes after the start time agreed by both players. The player who doesn't show up after 15 minutes loses the match by forfeit. As a courtesy, the player who is late should inform their opponent that they will be late or unable to show up. Any breach of these rules results in a warning. Two warnings result in a two-week suspension from the ladder.
Good luck, and have fun!
At the beginning of each season, you have 3 wild cards that you can use to challenge anyone on the ladder. Use them carefully because a challenge can be declined and you lose your wild card. It is not possible to give new wild cards. You also have 21 vacation days that you can use as you please. When you're on vacation, nobody can challenge you. However, you can lose points due to inactivity.
