2023 CHTC Ladder is a tennis ladder in Ottawa, Ontario.
The CHTC ladder is back in 2023! There will be no admin support this year, except for admitting new club members to the... ladder. We won't be able to cancel challenges and enter scores manually. This is because GTN changed its payment plans, and the club is unable to purchase a ladder membership, as we did before the new plans were introduced. More details to follow. Please read the ladder rules.
LADDER RULES
The challenger is responsible for booking the court for the match. The challenger is also responsible for bringing a can of new balls to the match.
To ladder match format is a pro set. The first player to reach 8 games by a difference of 2 games wins the match. A tie breaker must be played at 8 all. The score to be entered if a tie breaker was played is 9-8.
If a player is late for a match, there is a grace period of 15 minutes after the start time agreed by both players. The player who doesn't show up after 15 minutes loses the match by forfeit. As a courtesy, the player who is late should inform their opponent that they will be late or unable to show up.
At the beginning of each season, you have 1 wild card that you can use to challenge anyone on the ladder. Use it wisely because a challenge can be declined and you lose your wild card. It is not possible to give new wild cards.
