MLTC Singles Ladder - January to April 2023 is a tennis ladder in Manly, New South Wales.
General
- Matches are time capped as agreed between the players.
- Each match will be in the format agreed between... the players prior to the match.
- For matches subject to strict time limits, a suitable option may be one long set. The player with the most number of games at the end of the agreed time would win the challenge.
- At the completion of each match, the winner is required to submit the score. A link is included here and in the WhatsApp group info page.
- The club will supply good used balls. Players may also agree to supply their own new balls.
- Use of the facilities is subject to Manly Tennis Centre and Manly Lawn Tennis Club policies.
Challenges
- Players issue challenges when and how they like, subject to the challenge being acceptable.
- Players may challenge any player below them on the ladder.
- Players may challenge any of the 5 players immediately above them on the ladder.
- Once challenged, players must complete the match within one week. If you do not accept the challenge then you automatically move down the ladder.
- Players are not required to accept more than one challenge per week.
- Players are not required to accept a challenge from another player they have defeated within the past two weeks.
- Matches should be completed within 5 days of the challenge, unless extenuating circumstances prevent it.
- A withdrawn or cancelled challenge is a default loss for the challenger.
Ladder Positions
- If a lower ranked player defeats a higher ranked player, the winner (lower ranked player) takes the position of the loser (higher ranked player) and the loser drops by one position on the ladder.
- If a higher ranked player defeats a lower ranked player, no positions change.
- If the match results in a draw, no positions change.
