4yUpdate: Our good friend Carlos lost his battle with complications from Covid this morning. Carl was a longtime friend, great tennis player family man. He was genuine, caring and giving and leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his friends and family. I spoke w him every wk or so about anything from tennis to our health. Knowing Carlos made you a better person. Carl owned and operated Patriot Auto & Doggy Wash in Springfield. We will all miss you Carlos!

This is brought with a heavy and solemn heart; Carl Alcancia, this morning (12/9), passed away. I only have this much information. At this time, funeral arrangements and other details are not known. I will update you all when I learn about them (and if the Alcancia family wants them to be public).
This world lost a wonderful person, father, tennis player, and many more. He will be greatly missed in the Springfield community.

4yYears ago we had a tennis ladder at MSU on the Global Tennis Network. I have decided to launch another ladder that is free and more about making tennis connections. The Network will keep your ranking and help you with a rating as long as you input every fun or competetive set you play with other ladder members. Again no charge and no end trophy or prize at this time. This is not competetion for Alex’s ladder. This is more about making tennis connections and letting others know you need a match by email.
