Tennis Ladder Description
Ladder open to all players male or female any age at a 2.5 level and above. We will host a match night at Lagoon on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month (Sept.-Dec.) from 5:00-6:30. Please RSVP on the events tab for match play.
Challenge matches can be played on your own schedule at any agreeable location. Just make a challenge match from the website and offer times you are available to play.
Typical match format is one set, but can be lengthened if both players agree before the start of the match.
If a club member (Wynlakes or MCC) wishes to play at their club against a non-member, the member should offer to pay any guest fees.
Each player should bring a new can of balls to the match and the winner keeps the new can. (Balls are provided on Friday match play)
The ladder fee is $35 for the season (Reduced to $20 for the remainder of the season) and can be paid online with PayPal or at O'Connor with cash or a check made to the City of Montgomery. Once fees have been paid, you are active on the ladder and can make and receive challenges. The fee includes court fees and balls for all Friday match play.

Tennis Ladder Rules
1. The ladder is located in:
Country: United States
State: Alabama
City: Montgomery

2. The ladder is open to the following players:
Playing Level: All levels
Match Format: Singles
Gender: All

3. This ladder will begin August 10, 2018 and end December 31, 2018.

4. Players have 14 days to accept or decline a challenge before it is automatically declined.

5. Players will not be penalized for declining challenges.

6. Players have 14 days to play an accepted challenge before it expires and the following occurs:
The challenge is simply cancelled.

7. Match Instructions:
We provide balls on Friday match nights. If playing a challenge match at other times- each player brings a can of balls and the winner keeps the new can. Standard match format is one set to 6, but you plan play longer formats (2 out of 3 sets) if both players agree before the match starts.

8. Players will not be penalized for not playing matches.

9. Forfeits will not be treated like a lost match, and will have no affect on rankings or points.

10. Any of the following match formats can be used:

Single Set: A single set is first to win 6 or more games with a margin of 2 games. A tie-breaker is played if each team has won 6 games.

Example scores: 6-3 or 7-6


11. The following system will be used to compute a player's position on the ladder.

Leap Frog: This is the most basic and simplest ranking system. When a lower ranked player beats a higher ranked player, the lower ranked player "leap frogs" over the higher ranked player, pushing them and each player initially between them down one spot. If the higher ranked player wins, nothing happens.

12. All ladder members should maintain current contact information. If you change phone numbers or e-mail addresses, you must update your profile so other member can contact you and you will receive email notifications.
